One day, two volunteers

Christophe and Victorine Juhentet

Quick bio: Born in Tunis, Christophe Juhentet moved to France in 1978. A lifelong film buff, he is a management assistant at Lycée Hector Guimard in Lyon and is delighted to be taking on the role of volunteer for the first time this year. As an added bonus, he will be sharing the event with his daughter Victorine, 16, who is also volunteering for the first time.

My favourite filmmakers:
Christophe: "Tarantino, for his unhinged style and his fast-paced movies. I'm also a big fan of Clint Eastwood, for the themes he deals with.”
Victorine: "Without hesitation, Wes Anderson: I really admire him, he has a style that's instantly recognisable. Watching his films is like being in a bubble outside of everyday life.”

My first movie theatre:
Christophe: "The Africa cinema in Tunis: my father loved westerns and used to take me to the cinema regularly.”
Victorine: "For me, it’s the Comoedia in Lyon: when I was a child, we went to the young audience screenings every Sunday morning.”

My favourite film:
Christophe : "Farewell My Concubine" by Chen Kaige.
Victorine : "Amélie" by Jean-Pierre Jeunet

Why I volunteer: "What I love about this film festival is that it brings together people from all generations, both in the team of volunteers and in the audience, with cinema as the connecting factor.”

My missions at the festival:
Christophe: "As a film festivalgoer, I've often chatted with the volunteers: I've wanted to get involved in the festival for several years. Plus, I like the
contact with the public and the artists.”

Victorine: "This is my first experience of volunteering as part of my Universal National Service (SNU): it's a chance to contribute to a major event and discover the BTS of the film festival.”
