Arnaud Brun, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Adéquat Group, explains the Lyon-based company's commitment to the Lumière film festival.

Groue Adequat

What is the meaning of the partnership between the Lumière film festival and Adéquat?

For us, this partnership has three main aims: the first is to promote access to culture for as many people as possible; the second is to assert our position as a player in the field of employment, a vehicle for inclusion, in particular by supporting volunteers in finding employment and the programme for refugees. Finally, as a Lyon-based company, it makes sense to have a strong local presence.

What can culture bring to a group like yours?

Once again, it's the notion of access to culture for as many people as possible that is of interest to us in the Lumière film festival. For us, this applies directly to our permanent and temporary employees. Each year, we distribute several hundred tickets during the festival, and maintain our partnership with the Institute throughout the year (museum visits, exhibitions, special screenings, etc.).

Can you elaborate on and give us an assessment of the "job dating" activity you organise in conjunction with the festival every year?

Our “job dating" event takes place after every festival; this year it will be held on 8 November at the Tony Parker Adéquat Academy. It is open to all festival volunteers, whatever their background or profile, and aims to help them find employment. It is fully in keeping with the festival's action to help refugees in particular. In 2022, we had 55 people registered. For 2023, we are opening it up to even more people, with the ambition of offering the " employment for solidarity " event to all volunteers looking for work, in partnership with the refugee associations who are very active.

Personally, what is your fondest memory of the festival?

Aside from the programme, my favourite moment each year is the opening ceremony. It's a great way to kick off the festival, with surprises, humour and emotion, and it's often a special time to be together with the Adéquat teams.
