“You're about to see 1946 Lyon on the big screen. This film is based on a true story that took place in Lyon’s silk industry. It also features Louis Jouvet in a magnificent role, along with highly intelligent, extremely fine dialogue”.

A trip back in time and a quick wink to Lyon's renowned textile industry: actor-director Hippolyte Girardot has mastered the art of the teaser to whet the appetite of Lyon's filmgoers. A supporter of the festival since its inception, the actor has come to introduce the film A Lover’s Return on Tuesday at the Senior home of Tête d'Or run by the UNIVI group. This ‘EHPAD’ houses approximately a hundred residents and will experience the first screening to be held as part of the festival, in partnership with the Rêve de Cinéma association and the Apicil social action retirement group. In the halls of the residence, the atmosphere is immediately palpable: photos of Alain Delon on the infamous sailing boat in Purple Noon contrast with François Ozon's 8 Women, under the benevolent gaze of Jacques Brel in Money Money Money..

In a big room at the residence, transformed into a real cinema for the occasion, Pierrette Willième, 95, is looking forward to seeing the legendary Louis Jouvet again in this gem by director Christian-Jaque: “I've adored this actor since forever, and I've always been thrilled by the Lumière film festival! I wouldn't have missed this screening for the world!" A few rows back, Monique Caudal, age 96, and her husband Robert, 98, have come for a romantic rendezvous. “A first for the festival”, declares Monique, a big admirer of Louis Jouvet’s… “but in my heart, my number one is Isabelle Adjani!” The invitation to the unforgettable actress of Queen Margot has been extended!
