Quick bio: Originally from Laval, Anatole Gignoux moved to Lyon a year ago to make his dream of becoming a director-producer come true. Anatole has a degree in biology and is a film connoisseur. He is currently studying cinema at the Université Lumière Lyon 2. A member of the Lyon-based cinema association “Kinoxs”, the young man from Laval set up the artists' collective “Dogme” with two friends he met at the university. This Terry Gilliam fan is currently looking for funding to produce the medium-length film Devant la montagne, which is scheduled to be shot in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Calling all investors!

My favourite filmmakers: The first would definitely have to be Terry Gilliam! I love his mise en scène and his ability to create a universe with the utmost precision, whether it's in the sets or the costumes. I also love George Miller for his sense of narration, and I'm a big fan of Quentin Dupieux: he's one of the only filmmakers who makes absurd films in the way I like, without ever taking himself too seriously!

The theatre where I discovered cinema: The Cinéville in Laval was my first movie theatre, but I have to say that I mainly discovered the seventh art at the screenings my parents used to have at home - it was a real ritual in our house!

My favourite film: Peter Weir's The Truman Show: I even did a report on it when I was about ten! It's amazing to be able to use a film to convey an idea that you think only you have. That's why I want to make films, to share these emotions with the public.

My enthusiasm for volunteering: What I like about this film festival is seeing people of all ages together, both in the team of volunteers and in the audience, with cinema as the link.

My tasks at the film festival: I'm a volunteer advisor in the theatre at UGC Ciné Cité Confluence: my role is to manage the team of volunteers present at the screenings. I love the contact with people and the fact that I can help volunteers and festivalgoers by finding solutions rapidly.
