QUICK BIO: Nelly Sereau has been a volunteer for two years. She discovered the festival in 2022: “I came to see one of my favourite directors, Tim Burton. It was an extraordinary edition!” Since then, Nelly Sereau has become a volunteer at other events such as Les Quais du Polar and the Lyon BD Festival. Having moved here from her native Loire-Atlantique, Nelly is just as much in love with her new city of Lyon.

MY FAVOURITE DIRECTORS: I really like the works of Julie Delpy, her themes, her tone: it is light without really being so. I loved her latest film, Meet the Barbarians! I'm a fan of Tim Burton and I'm always blown away by the power of his imagination.

THE MOVIE THEATRE WHERE I DISCOVERED THE CINEMA: It was a cinema called “Le Brévinois” in Saint-Brevin-les-Pins, where they were screening High Noon.

MY GO-TO MOVIE: Brazil by Terry Gilliam, a film that made a big impression on me, so powerful, so realistic. It’s a perfect denunciation of the absurdity of our society.

WHY I VOLUNTEER: It's important to create social links; I like meeting people and discovering new horizons. And I love the festive feel of events like the Lumière film festival!

MY TASKS AT THE FESTIVAL: Welcoming the public to the UGC Confluence movie theatre, selling merchandise at the Halle Tony-Garnier and helping festival employees in the catering area.
