Arnaud Brun, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Groupe Adéquat, explains how a festival is essentially about human values.

The relationship between Groupe Adéquat and the festival is based on loyalty. What does this sponsorship mean for Lumière 2025?
Last year, we celebrated ten years of partnership, and I’m very happy to remain committed to this endeavour. Groupe Adéquat contributes to the world's largest classic film festival and to the reputation of our city. It's a relationship founded on loyalty and trust and it gives us great pride.
The relationship between Groupe Adéquat and the festival also includes a commitment to volunteers. What does that involve this year?
At Adéquat, we want to use our HR expertise to engender professional inclusion for all. By doing so, we can change the lives of people who are sometimes far removed from the job market, such as refugees or individuals involved in integration programmes who volunteer during the festival. On 6 November at the Tony Parker Adéquat Academy, Adéquat recruiters will be available to help them find their way back to employment and make the most of the skills they’ve acquired during the festival.
Is it important to you that the Lumière film festival is an event celebrating popular culture?
It's fundamental. Culture is what connects us to one another. Cinema in particular is an excellent way to bring all cultures and generations together. The Institut Lumière does a tremendous job of opening the doors of cinema to all audiences, including youngsters. It's a celebration of cinema that brings all the people of Lyon together.
In your opinion, how does the festival's influence throughout the entire Lyon metropolitan area correspond to a group like Adéquat?
For nearly ten days, the entire Lyon metropolitan area lives to the rhythm of the festival. The idea of holding screenings in various locations allows a very wide audience to discover masterpieces from the history of cinema as well as more contemporary films. Thanks to partner associations, there are even screenings held at hospitals and prisons. This corresponds very well to the values of Adéquat, which aims to promote access to culture for everyone.
On a personal level, what are you most looking forward to discovering from the Lumière 2025 lineup?
I’m greatly looking forward to attending the master class by Sean Penn on 13 October and the evening event at the Auditorium with Natalie Portman. These are some of the festival's highlights, stories you won't find anywhere else!
