The Lumière festival is an adventure that began in 2009 with the aim of bringing (back) to life the treasures of our cinematographic heritage and sharing them with as many people as possible. In line with the Lumière brothers, who invented the first cinema screenings, the festival endeavours to encourage the public to live a unique collective experience. We took up this challenge by creating an accessible, celebratory and ambitious festival.
The success of the festival, and its development from year to year, is naturally due to the artists, the public, all the teams and volunteers, and also due to the many companies and individual donors who have trusted us and who have taken the risk of betting on this event with us.

In the spirit of the festival, we are developing accessible patronage with individuals and businesses, with donations from 1,000 euros. Each partnership project will be built with you and will receive personalised attention.
Thanks to the contributions from companies and individuals, patronage and sponsorship revenues have been on a constant upward trajectory since the festival’s inception in 2009, representing approximately 40% of the festival’s budget in 2018.
