Zhang Ziyi introduces Wo hu cang long/Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
POSTED ON 12.10.2026
Zhang Ziyi introduced Wo hu cang long/Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon at the Halle Tony Garnier, won 1st Prize of the Lumière film festival and received a photogram of the first film, Leaving the Lumière Factory.
« I understand there are 5,000 people in the audience?! I’m truly honored. You’ve given me such wonderful gifts, especially this award. If Ang Lee were here, he’d be just as touched as I am. I was lucky to work with Zhang Yimou when I was in college. The following year, Ang Lee called me to talk about Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon–I was barely 19. It was my first action movie, and I had no idea if I could pull off certain stunts. Working with Wong Kar-wai, to be honest, was torture, but I adore him! If I had even the slightest chance to collaborate with him again, I’d sign up in a minute. I’m currently working on directing my first feature film, but I need to be 2000% sure of what I’m doing, so give me a little more time. »
