Auditorium of Lyon
An enormous concrete shell, the Auditorium of Lyon has been an imposing landmark in the heart of the Part-Dieu district since 1975. From 1993 to 2002, the Auditorium underwent extensive acoustic and technical renovation. The venue, one of the largest in France, seating 2,000, boasts outstanding acoustics, allowing the audience to fully enjoy the music.
The Orchestre National de Lyon, a permanent orchestra since 1969, has been administered and supported by the City of Lyon, who endowed them with the Auditorium of Lyon concert hall in 1975. Since the creation of the Orchestra de l'Opéra de Lyon in 1983, the orchestra, under the new name Orchestre National de Lyon, is devoted to a symphonic repertoire.
