The cinema at the Hangar du Premier-Film

The Hangar du Premier film was completely renovated in 1998 with the original décor preserved.  The historic site of the first film (La Sortie des usines Lumière, 1895) is now a cinema with 269 seats and digital equipment.  The Institut Lumière shows films here daily all year round in the style of a cinematheque, with special guests, retrospectives, films grouped around a theme, major classics and films for young people.
