Lumière 2025: 

Cinema across the entire metropolitan area of Lyon


Like every year, the films of the Lumière film festival shine throughout the metropolitan area of Lyon! Cinema is meant to be shared in all its forms, accessible to everyone, everywhere. Screenings, exhibitions, encounters with festival guests and cinema lectures present prime opportunities to take a trip through the history of cinema all around Lyon.

The Festival in the Metropolis: Key Figures

  • 21 participating theatres in Bron, Caluire-et-Cuire, Charbonnières-les-Bains, Craponne, Dardilly, Décines-Charpieu, Écully, Francheville, Meyzieu, Mions, Neuville-sur-Saône, Oullins-Pierre-Bénite, Rillieux-la-Pape, Saint-Genis-Laval, Saint-Priest, Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon, Tassin-la-Demi-Lune, Vaulx-en-Velin, Vénissieux and Villeurbanne
  • 29 film screenings introduced by our guests, artists, historians, film critics or members of the organising festival team
  • 3 cinema lectures on the films of Michael Mann in Francheville, Neuville-sur-Saône and Villeurbanne
  • 2 exhibitions in Francheville and Rillieux-la-Pape
  • Screenings in hospitals and health care centres: at the Femme Mère Enfant Hospital in Bron, the La Rochette nursing home in Caluire-et-Cuire and the Respite Care Center in Tassin-la-Demi-Lune
  • 1 screening introduced by a festival guest at a correctional facility at the Lyon-Corbas remand prison, along with screenings in some ten other correctional facilities across the region
