The Lumière Film Festival for children: Asterix!


The whole family can take part in the challenge alongside the indomitable Gauls, with a gigantic screening of The Twelve Tasks of Asterix at the Halle Tony Garnier. You can also follow Goscinny and Uderzo's two heroes in cinemas across Lyon and its metropolitan area with a series of animated Asterix films.

Caesar can no longer contend with the fact that the little village of Gaul continues to escape defeat time and time again. He therefore issues a challenge to Asterix, Obelix and all their friends... A true test for our classic cult characters! The second and final animated film by the authors of the graphic novel.

Asterix and Cleopatra by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo (Astérix et Cléopâtre, 1968, 1h13)
Cleopatra makes a bet with Caesar that she can have a palace built in three months. Architect Edifis is in charge of the project and asks Asterix and Obelix to help out... This first animated movie was made by the authors of the graphic novel, featuring their highly colourful characters.

The Gauls continued to stand up to Caesar, who decides to build a Roman town around their village. They have no choice but to blend in, or disappear... The directors, faithful to the original work, deploy an arsenal of humour and a barrage of references.

The Tramp pretends to be an aristocrat in order to attend, uninvited, a posh party; the Tramp goes to a spa and plays the troublemaker; and the Tramp, a prisoner, escapes and gets caught up in an exciting chase.
