After a gruelling final tour, Aurélien decides to settle in Japan with his wife Nanako, who is carrying their first child. As the young couple moves into a traditional house in the Japanese countryside, Aurélien discovers an ancient coat of armour in a well, which awakens strange creatures known as the Yokaïs.

A decade after Comment c’est loin and four years after the documentary series ORELSAN: Don’t ever show this to anyone, directed by his brother Clément Cotentin, Orelsan returns to the big screen, stepping into the leading role in Yoroï, directed and written by David Tomaszewski and Orelsan.

Aurélien Cotentin, AKA Orelsan, plays himself, settling in Japan with his spouse Nanako, and future firstborn child. Coming off an exhausting tour, they seek to escape the madness all around them and find some peace and quiet in the land of the rising sun. But everything changes when Aurélien discovers an ancient suit of armour at the bottom of a well in the garden of their traditional house.

Yoroï, which means ‘armour’ in Japanese, is a film that portrays certain Japanese beliefs related to abnormal and supernatural creatures and phenomena. The production features meticulous photography and sets inspired by classic Japanese cinema, probing the themes of parentage, doubt and coming of age in an enchanting setting. David Tomaszewski and Orelsan have a long history of collaboration, as evidenced by their previous MVs made together, such as Plus rien ne m'étonneRaelSanL'Odeur de l'essence and Ils sont cools...
